Overview

EL Series

EL100 explosion proof actuator

The EL100 actuator is another simple, clean and cost effective replacement for hydraulics. Proven T-LAM technology yields a 35% increase in continuous motor torque over traditional windings. These actuators are Class I, Division1, Group B, C, D, and T3 compliant. Additionally they meet ATEX requirements for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and conform to EU ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.

EL30 explosion proof actuator

EL30 actuators are ideal for wide range of applications in hazardous locations. Advanced roller screw technology provides up to 15 times the travel life of rival ball screw solutions, as well as greater load capacity. These electromechanical actuators are even capable of reducing emissions and energy consumption, while increasing position control and accuracy. These explosion proof actuators are rated for Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C, D, and T4 and T3A temperature ratings.

Other Advantages

  • Flexible design suitable for numerous applications and configurations
  • Wide range of windings available (from 24 VDC to 460 VRMS)
  • Several mounting configurations available
  • Sealed housing for trouble-free operation in harsh environments
  • Multiple models for maximum flexibility
  • Specialized material and coating options
  • Designed for long life and low maintenance

Curtiss Wright Actuation provides explosion proof actuators fit for the correct application that needs to operate in hazardous conditions.

HHH = Feedback Type

Your choice of drive will dictate the appropriate feedback device for your situation. Options for feedback type include: absolute, analog and incremental encoders, as well as custom feedback alternatives.

LL = Motor Speed

All Exlar T-LAM™ motors and actuators have a standard motor speed designator (described below). The designator represents the standard base speed of the motor for the selected bus voltage.

Designator Base Speed
-01 … -99 specialized speed *

(two digit number x 100 = rated rpm)

Please note that Exlar can manufacture its T-LAM products with specialized base speeds to exactly match your application requirements. This may be a higher or lower base speed, which will allow you to get the required torque and optimal speed for your application, while using the minimum amount of current from your amplifier.

The callout for a special speed is configured in the model number by using a two-digit code from 01 through 99. These codes represent the number, in hundreds, of rpm that is the base speed for the motor.

Note: It is not possible to produce every possible speed for each motor at each voltage. *

HHH = Motor Stator

Motor Stator options are described with a 3-digit code. The first digit calls out the stack length, the second digit designates the rated bus voltage, and the third digit identifies the number of poles. Please refer to the mechanical/electrical specifications for motor torque and actuator rated force.
